The story so far

It started with an idea to create a place where stakeholders with creative skills and abilities could post printed literature where those ‘less-able’ could select from what was made available, adapt it in some way, possibly price, contact details, end date or just general verbiage, then print it locally based on the number they wanted at any given time.

That was ok, big portfolios of content were built, loads were downloaded, we developed the system, then ‘creatively’ called Online Print Proofing (or OPP), to do multiple page material, posters and banners. The administrator could see the stats for downloads and control whether the print was to be downloadable or had to come back to them to be printed. Either way their customers, clients, distributors, franchisees, fundraisers and regional offices were now getting personalised quality brand compliant collateral in double quick time as or when they wanted it.

What we’d created was a Marketing Portal and we were prompted by our customers could go much further than just high res PDFs. Email marketing was the obvious next challenge. We already had an ultra secure account structure where content could be aligned to an individual or a group so why not add another format whereby the administrator could post HTML collateral for the user to link to their mailing list and send. Full reports for both the administrator and the user were obviously available

Fantastic leap forward in so much that companies that previously had to create their own content, or had to go through a perilously slow and time consuming process of using limited collateral from suppliers, head offices, franchisors, design houses, wholesalers and buying groups, could now have at their finger tips a huge selection of cross channel personalised marketing collateral that they could use in minutes.

The email marketing module also allows the user to create their own content and campaigns from scratch. We’ve added Buy Now links to capture immediate sales through links to bespoke Order Pads or links to e-commerce solutions. We’ve added integration to product files in order that they can quickly and easily populate emails. We’ve allowed administrators to create Newsletter Templates which enable users to create a massive range of professional content, and we’ve added the ability to download HTML to use on their website, and we’ve not finished there. We’re committed to continual development based on two mantras – it has to be secure and it has to be easy to use.

What we’ve created is a completely scalable solution, in so much that The Marketing Portal can be used either by an individual or a multi national and in terms of modules being activated as and when. We’ve created a solution which many administrators have turned into a revenue centre. They have access to a full range of reports so in many instances for the first time they can see how successful their marketing efforts are being. We’re quite happy to work with other software houses to produce integrated solutions with CRM and e-commerce and procurement systems. Combine this with our stance that software has always been a service, pricing should be fair and equitable, and that customer support involves being proactive as well as reactive, it all adds up to a fantastic solution.
